On March 4th, Lily turned three. Grandma and Grandpa Kay were going to be heading out on vacation that week, so we decided to celebrate the Sunday before in honor of both her birthday and her cousin Asher’s birthday.
Cousin Linden gave Lily some pretty flower hair clips.
She also got some puzzles and books from Grandma and Grandpa, which she adored. She is learning her phonics and loves reading a book about cats almost every night (prompting Piper to start every sentence she “reads” by sounding out the hard “C” sound like Lily does - “K. K. K. K blah blah blah blah”).
On her birthday morning Lily opened her big present from mom and dad – a new scooter. Ava has one and Lily had been dying to get her own.
Of course we had to take it out for a spin!
In the afternoon I took the kids to an indoor bounce house, something Lily had been talking about visiting again since her initial trip last fall. Our friends, the Porter’s, drove up from Provo to join in the fun and all of the kids had a blast!
For her birthday dinner, Lily requested we go to Red Robin, one of her favorite restaurants due to the free balloons and unlimited french fries.
After dinner Lily opened the rest of her presents, including some new books and Toy Story 3 DVD. We all had a great day!
