Holiday Card Time

OK, come one.  Anyone that knows me knows I am uber-prepared and organized.  At the very least, I try to be.  Birthdays snuck up and went zooming past (more on those later) and now the holidays are looming with several new babies set to arrive in our family/friend circle the beginning of the new year.  Man, I have got to get a handle on all of this madness!

When it comes to Christmas cards, I usually have them ordered, printed, signed, labeled and stamped before Thanksgiving (yep, I told you I was that person).  And my go-to supply spot for the past several years has been Shutterfly.  If any of you have not yet created an account with them, get on it!  New members get some yummy perks and us old-timers still get ah-mazing deals on photos, wall calendars (made these for Grandma one Christmas with all the grandkids pictures in it), photobooks (made some of these last year for Christmas gifts), photocards (I have made some of the cutest personalized “thank-you” cards and grandparents cards for Mothers’ and Fathers’ Days this year from the girls) and all sorts of fun things.

I was taking a look the other day at all of their cute Christmas card designs in anticipation of ordering.  To tell you the truth I had been contemplating designing my own in Photoshop and then printing it somewhere.  But after seeing all of the layouts that Shutterfly offers, I decided “why the heck would I do that?”.  In my world, time is money.  Ok, in everbody’s world, right?  So save yourself the trouble and check out these cards.

Since I have some awesome photos from our family photo shoot this summer, I plan on using one of them for our Christmas cards.  Here are my top three choices:

STATIONERYCARD_5x7-23046-2581-MERCHLARGE_FRONT-v1281038934000115057 #1 – I like this one because it says “Merry Christmas” as opposed to “Happy Holidays” (just my personal preference) and a few of my favorite family photos are in black and white.  So I can see how lovely it would be.

PHOTOCARD-3-4282-MERCHLARGE_FRONT-v128209201400057911 #2 – I like that I can use several photos, since I am not sure I will be able to choose.  But this format seems to offer me the option of being a little more informal and fun, which I like.

#3 – How colorful and fun!  (I am seeing a color pattern here, hmm..)  And the place where you can put text on the right side – love it!

So which do you think we should order?  What are your favorites?  Any I didn’t list?

I like option #1 best. Now you've got me thinking about Christmas cards. Maybe I can our friends to take a picture of us together at Thanksgiving dinner.

I like that last one with the list. Very unique!

I'm actually thinking of doing postcards this year. I had a friend design our cards to print as a 4 x6. I was going to send them in an envelope, but I thought a post card might be something fun and different!

I love all of them! But #3 is my favorite although now I'm hoping you pick a different one so I can do that one :) But either way, there are some fantastic options out there. We just had some family photos taken along with Levi's 18-month photos so maybe we could just use those. I'll send you one to see what you think.
Love, Tracy
