Life As We Know It

::  My baby is officially leaving the building.  Seemingly only weeks away from walking on her own, she is graduating to finger foods (the other day she had a lunch of scrambled eggs and avocado) and sippy cups.  *sigh*  I don't have the baby fever yet, but I can feel it coming on.  In the meantime my world moves into the realm of one of the most hated chores imaginable: cleaning the high chair tray.  HATE cleaning the high chair tray.  Especially after avocado and eggs.  Gratefully this chore falls under Elliott's domain since I hate it so much and he doesn't see why, it's no big deal to him.  (In exchange I iron his shirts and all is right in the world.)

:: The other day cousins came over to play and Ava and Xander seemed to be having some disagreement.
When we questioned them Xander said he wanted to play monsters. To which Ava replied she didn't like monsters, she liked princesses. When Xander insisted he liked monsters Ava suggested he pretend to be Cookie Monster (probably the most harmless monster out there). And yet another illustration of the fundamental differences between boys and girls.

::  The digital camera was missing for awhile.  I found it the other day... at the bottom of the laundry hamper. Guess I should wash clothes more often, then I would've found it sooner.

:: In an effort to buy myself some time the other day I put Ava to work "dusting" with a little washcloth.  Apparently she loves to help by cleaning.  She now routinely takes washcloths out of the drawers to wipe things off.  I caught her dusting like this the other day.  I can't say that I am not pleased.  This will come in very handy.

I love the tidbits of everyday activities that make up the simple joys of life as a stay-at-home mama. Also I love Ava's compromise of the cookie monster thing--looks like she has your diplomacy :) Also, does that girl ever wear pants?
