Here’s a conversation I overheard in the backseat on Tuesday:
Lily: Kimball (a preschool friend) wants to go to the pyramids when he grows up.
Me: That’s fun. What do you want to be when you grow up?
Lily: I want to be a construction worker.
Ava: I want to be a scientist.
Piper: I want to be a pony.
Lily: I want to ride ponies when I grow up.
Ava: You could ride Piper!
(pause)
Ava: Piper you can’t be a pony when you grow up.
Piper: I WANT to be a pony!!!
Lily (sweetly): You can ask God to make you a pony.
*******
Later that day, Ava drew a picture of/for Piper:
What Do You Want To Be?
